Funeral services for Leonard E. Modisette, 90, of Pollok, will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Browning and Bob Westbrook officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mr. Modisette was born February 11, 1924 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Lottie Elnora (Martin) and John Isum Modisette. He died Friday, February 21, 2014 in a Lufkin hospital.
Mr. Modisette was a retired welder for Lufkin Industries, Inc., following 35 years of service. He served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Modisette was an avid 42 player, and also loved to play checkers and solitaire. He enjoyed attending Southern Gospel singings; and in his younger days, he loved to hunt squirrels. Mr. Modisette was a member of Keltys First Baptist Church and had lived in the Clawson/Pollok area all his life.
He is survived by his three sons and their wives, Dennis and Patsy Modisette of Diboll, Collis and Joy Modisette of Pollok, and Kenny and Jeanne Modisette of Pollok; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Thomas Ladd of Pollok; brother-in-law, Jack Mott of Pollok; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mr. Modisette was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Velma Dee Palmore Modisette; sisters, Lena Edwards, Mildred Mott, Mamie O’Quinn; and brothers, Elbert Modisette, John Morris Modisette.
Pallbearers will be Eric Modisette, Brent Modisette, Wade Modisette, Keith Modisette, Troy Christmas, Victor Garcia, and Nick Terry.

The family extends a special thanks to Larkspur Nursing Home for their loving and compassionate care.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
