Ruth Mayfield Parker

Memorial services for Ruth Mayfield Parker, 58, of Huntington will be held Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Dr. Raymond A. Parker officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mrs. Parker was born August 2, 1955 in Roswell, New Mexico to Elizabeth Jane (Shank) Mayfield and Elmer A. Mayfield, and died Sunday, February 16, 2014 at her residence. She had resided in Huntington for 26 years. Mrs. Parker enjoyed designing and repairing jewelry, collecting gemstones, and reading. She loved her family and friends. She was a Christian.

Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Lance Parker of Huntington; sons and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Dr. Jill Wanner of Pearland and Alan Parker of Huntington; daughter and son-in-law, Nikki and Dustin Shoemaker of Lufkin; grandchildren, Corbin Wanner, Ressie Wanner and Aubree Parker; sisters and brothers-in-law, June Kay Grattan of Magna, Utah, Sandra Garcia of Pampa, Debbie and Rick Guillotte, Jr. of Jacksonville, Briley and Bill Dailey of Beckville and Glynna and Kevin Reser of Boerne; parents-in-law, Dr. Raymond A. and Bobbie Parker of Woodville; sister-in-law, Deborah Hodges of Woodville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Wendy Wanner; sister, Linda Jennings; and brother, Elmer Arthur Mayfield, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to BACH ECI, 120 E. Hospital Drive, Angleton, Texas 77515 to help support her granddaughter’s developmental therapy.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon prior to the services.

A reception will be held following the services at the Cornerstone Chapel on Avenue A in Huntington.
