Services with military honors for Thomas W. Jefferson, 95, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Garden of Memories Memorial Park Sunset Mausoleum with Brother Wayne Roberson officiating. Entombment will follow the services.
Mr. Jefferson was born November 22, 1918 in Groveton, Texas to Author Earl and Maebel Bell (Redden) Jefferson, and died Wednesday, February 12, 2014 in Lufkin.
A former resident of Galveston, Mr. Jefferson had resided in Lufkin for 33 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a home builder. Mr. Jefferson was a Mason and a Shriner. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his daughters, Connie Jefferson Sharpe and husband Tom of Fairview, Jeanette Mullins and husband Bill of Houston, Tommie Jean Ortiz and husband Nick of California, and Mary Jefferson of Houston; son, Jack Wayne Jefferson and wife Donna of Mississippi; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Davis and Tom Sharpe.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Sunday at Carroway Funeral Home.
