John Michael Knight

Funeral services for John Michael Knight, 41, of Huntington will be held Friday, February 14, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Kenneth Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. Knight was born April 4, 1972 in Lufkin, Texas, and died Sunday, February 9, 2014 at his residence.

Mr. Knight was employed with Hammer Equipment and had lived in the Huntington area for the past 10 years. He was an avid deer hunter and had a great love for the outdoors. His hobbies included hunting for artifacts such as arrowheads and flint knapping arrowheads. He also had a great love for animals, often stopping to feed strays. Michael was a Baptist by faith and he knew the Lord.

He is survived by his wife, Robin Brashear-Knight of Huntington; children, Airman 1st Class Kady S. Knight of Colorado Springs, Joshua Chase Knight of Nacogdoches, Cody J. Michael Knight of Lufkin, and Kendall River Knight of Huntington; father and stepmother, Leo and Debbie Knight of Hudson; mother, Kathy Banks of Lufkin; brothers, Billy Joe Knight and Koral Rentsch of Lufkin and Shaun Knight and wife Katie of Hudson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Martin and Rene Brashear of Huntington; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sheila and Jim Adams of Martinsville; grandmother, Mary Banks of Lufkin; grandmother-in-law, Lula Faye James of Lufkin; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Mr. Knight was preceded in death by his sister, Cynthia Ann Knight.

Pallbearers will be Cody Knight, B.J. Knight, Shaun Knight, Brad Turgeau, Steve Phillips, and Cade Banks.

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Joe Knight, Jacob Knight and Thomas Smith.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
