Daurice Stalnaker Amen of Etoile died February 3, 2014.
Mrs. Amen was born April 26, 1917 in Marquette, Nebraska to Curtis and Etta Stalnaker. Daurice is survived by one brother, Maurice Stalnaker of Norfolk, Nebraska. Daurice has joined her husband of 66 years, Joe Amen, in heaven who preceded her there in December of 2005.
Also surviving Daurice Amen are: daughter, Lin Webb (husband, Bill), son, Steve Amen (wife, Kay), daughter Jan Amen, all residents of Etoile. She was “Paca” to Kary Pickett, Milton James Webb, Curt Joseph Webb, Shane Steven Amen and Dayna Royer. Great-grandchildren are: Christopher Royer, Devan Rae Webb, Regan Leigh Webb, Colton James Webb, Linsie Nicole Webb, Chase Aaron Webb, Dustin Joseph Webb, Kade Logan Ames, Morgan Lin Collums, and Jacob William Crowder (wife, Lacy) and Super great-granddaughter, Tesslin Jo Tucker.
Daurice was an extremely talented pianist. She accompanied musicians in many parts of the country and was a church pianist her whole adult life. She taught developmentally handicapped children “music therapy” for many years at Villa Esperanza in Pasadena, California. In her golden years, she won at Skip-Bo even though sometimes she didn’t know it. For many years, she was the pianist for Shirley Creek Mission in Etoile.
Daurice was lovingly tended to by the caring employees of Southland Health Care Center and Heart to Heart Hospice. God Bless You for all you’ve done for our family.
