Mary Florence Womack

Funeral services for Mary Florence Womack, 91, of Hudson, will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mardy Guidry and David Womack officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Union Cemetery.

Mrs. Womack was born December 30, 1922 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Dradie Alsbrooks and Charlie McGilvra. She passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 in a Lufkin nursing facility.

Mrs. Womack worked at White’s Warehouse for 25 years. She was also a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved to travel in her earlier years, and loved to go to the boats and flea markets. She was always cooking for her family and friends, and loved to visit with people. Mrs. Womack was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and had lived in Hudson all her life.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Mac Womack of Hockley, Ronald and Becky Womack of Lufkin, and Richard and Stacey Womack of Hudson; grandchildren and their spouses, William and Terri Womack, Shanda and Clay Conditt, Josh Womack and Amanda, Kris Womack and Tracy, David and Haley Womack, Cassy O’Quinn, Patrick and Renea Beaty, and Mary Beaty; great grandchildren, Christian Womack, Kaielee Jordan, Holland Womack, Kaden Womack, Scout Womack, Liam Womack, Ireland Womack, Wyatt Womack, Tyler Beaty, Trever Beaty, and Ava Paulette Beaty; sister, Dorothy Bratton; sisters-in-law, Bobbie McGilvra, Francis McGilvra, and Kay McGilvra; special friends, Francis Ripley, Vivian Modisette, Judy Johnson, and Lisa Hale; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mrs. Womack was preceded in death by her husband, Sherwin William Womack; daughter, Paulette Arriola; daughter-in-law, Susie Womack; and brothers, Bill McGilvra, Paul McGilvra, and John McGilvra.

Pallbearers will be David Womack, Kris Womack, Josh Womack, William Womack, Patrick Beaty, and Christian Womack.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Paul Spencer, Larry Joe Watson, Craig McGilvra, and David Allen.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
