Robert (Bobby) Lee Davis

Graveside services for Robert (Bobby) Lee Davis, 79, of Corrigan, will be held Monday, January 27, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. in the Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan with Brother William “Peanut” Glass officiating.

Mr. Davis was born on April 23, 1934 in the Pine Grove Community of Polk County to the late Ora Mae (Chandler) and Robert Glover Davis. He died Friday, January 24, 2014 in a Lufkin hospital.

Mr. Davis was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator for many years. He was a member of Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church, and had lived in Polk County all his life.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Davis of Corrigan; daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Robbie (Buddy) Langston, Mary Sue and Stephen Blalock, all of Corrigan; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Dorrie Davis of Moscow; mother-in-law, Annie Goodson of Corrigan; grandchildren and their spouses, Joann Cuevas and Jesus, Crystal Langston, Dustin Langston, Stephen Blalock and wife Shonda, John Blalock and wife Candace, Matthew Blalock and wife Maria, Dorrie Ann Cotton and husband Brent, Randy Frankens and wife Amanda, and Glenna Frankens; twenty great grandchildren; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Red Davis and Wesley Davis; and sister, Lizzy Baxley.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Langston, Randy Frankens, Stephen Blalock, John Blalock, Matthew Blalock and Jesus Cuevas.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Chandler, Billy Singletary, and John M. Sirman.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations made to Carroway Funeral Home in the name of Robert Lee Davis will be greatly appreciated.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday morning at the funeral home in Lufkin.
