James T. (Buddy) West

Graveside services for James T. (Buddy) West, 86, of Huntington, will be held Sunday, January 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Brother Wayne Roberson officiating.

Buddy was born March 8, 1927 in Wiergate, Texas to the late Lou Jane (McKee) and Benjamin Master West. He passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014 in a local hospital. He had resided in Angelina County most of his life.

Buddy retired from Gipson Funeral Home as a monument engraver for the Garden of Memories Memorial Park after more than 30 years of service. He was an avid bass fisherman, and loved to share the stories of his many fishing adventures. Buddy also loved his Lord and the Word of God. He used every opportunity that he had to share the Word. He attended Victory Assembly of God in Lufkin.

Buddy served his country, during the Korean War, as a Senior Ground Radio Operator in the United States Air Force.

He is survived by one sister, Mary Nichols of Woodville; as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends.
