Jimmy Payton Hill

Memorial graveside services for Jimmy Payton Hill, 76, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. in the Sims (Rocky Hill) Cemetery.

Mr. Hill died Sunday, December 29, 2013 in a Lufkin hospice facility. He was born May 1, 1937 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Gladys (Reeves) and John A. Hill. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Hill was a retired Supervisor for Land O’Pines Dairy Company and had lived in Lufkin all his life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Sherry Hill and Allen and Carissa Hill, all of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Joanna and Patrick Shifflet of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Ryan Hill, Clark Hill, Mikayla Hill, Shiloh Brown, Troy Shifflet, Drew Shifflet, Tatum Shifflet and Peyton Shifflet; sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Bobby Vail of Lufkin; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Martha Wright Hill; son, Tommy Hill; sister, Elizabeth Knight; and brothers, John Hill, Jr. and Tommie Hill.
