Coy Taylor

Funeral services for Coy Taylor, 66, of Burke will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kenny Hibbs officiating. Interment will follow in the Ryan Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Taylor was born October 16, 1947 in Angelina County, Texas to R.B. and Osie Lee (Jeffrey) Taylor, and died Thursday, January 2, 2014 in a local hospital. His father passed away when he was five years old. Mr. Taylor was raised by his dad, Deck Lancaster.

Mr. Taylor resided in Burke most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from Lufkin Industries. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Diboll.

Survivors include his wife, Sherra Taylor of Burke; daughter, Stacey Miller of Burke; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Lee and Leah Taylor of Dallas; grandchildren, Tyler Pickard, Shelby Pickard and Allen Taylor, all of Burke; sister, Ruth Mullins of Burke; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father, R.B. Taylor; mother, Osie Lee Taylor Lancaster; dad, Deck Lancaster; infant son, Bryan Taylor; and brother, Gerald Taylor.

Pallbearers will be Brad Wright, Marty Wright, Floyd Wright, Mark Wright, Barry Wright and Richard Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Poindexter, Roy Davis, James Ward and Clyde Maxie.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon prior to the services.
