Funeral services for Maynard Dale Bryan, 88, of Lufkin will be held Friday, January 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Roy Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Whitehouse Cemetery.
Mr. Bryan was born November 24, 1925 in Jasper County, Illinois to the late Zula (Clark) and Gobern Henry Bryan. He died Saturday, December 28, 2013 in Henderson, Kentucky.
Mr. Bryan was a retired truck driver for Yellow Freight Company. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. Mr. Bryan loved cars and traveling. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his sons, Darrell and Diana Bryan of Lufkin and Kendel and Jacky Bryan of Henderson, Kentucky; grandchildren, Monica Bryan Brashear and husband Travis, Elizabeth Bryan Lopp and husband Mathew, all of The Woodlands, Veronica Bryan Walters and husband Damon of Huntington, Daniel Bryan and wife Shieryl of Carrollton, Valena Bryan of Nacogdoches, and Hannah Ruth Bryan of Lufkin; six great-grandchildren; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Fern Bryan; sisters, Maxine Betz and Hualice Scurlock; and brothers, Burton Bryan and Don Bryan.
