Donald "Bubba" Campbell

Funeral services for Donald “Bubba” Campbell, 68, of Diboll will be held Thursday, December 26, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.

Mr. Campbell was born June 2, 1945 in Houston, Texas to Gerald Nelson and Katherine Marie (Bushman) Campbell, and died Saturday, December 21, 2013 in Lufkin.

Mr. Campbell had resided in Diboll for 43 years. He had worked for Lufkin Coca Cola and Pepsi as a route salesman, and retired from Frito-Lay. Mr. Campbell loved to fish, play 42, and have family fish fries. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Campbell of Diboll; daughter, Renae Sargent of Nacogdoches; son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Margie Campbell of Texarkana; grandchildren, Lance Corporal Clayton R. Sargent, U.S. Marine Corps and wife Sarah Lee, Sara Sargent, Private First Class Joseph B. Campbell, U.S. Army and wife Kelby, Private First Class Corey M. Campbell, U.S. Marine Corps, Specialist Christopher A. Campbell, U.S. Army and wife Jayne, Colten T. Henderson, Ashley Harwell and Brianne Campbell; great-grandchildren, Zoey Campbell, Paizlee Campbell and Cassidy Jayne Campbell; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gerald “Jerry” and Mahaley Campbell of Lufkin; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Cathy and Walter Kirby of Lufkin; lifelong best friend, Charlie Handy of Lufkin; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Ryan David Sargent.

Pallbearers will be Mr. Campbell’s grandsons.
