Funeral services for Tony Maynard Mills, 73, of Lufkin will be held Monday, December 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Denman Avenue Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Moats and Brother Charles M. Roberts officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Bethany Cemetery in Colmesneil.
Mr. Mills was born August 15, 1940 in Centralia, Illinois to Maynard and Cleo Berneice (Hysell) Mills, and died Friday, December 20, 2013 at his residence. He had resided in Lufkin since 2007.
Mr. Mills served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from the Colonial Pipeline Company. He was saved and baptized in April 1952, and was ordained a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Eunice, Louisiana in 1972. Mr. Mills was currently a deacon at Denman Avenue Baptist Church and a member of the Kendrick Sunday school class.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Mills of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Brad Bryan of Greensboro, North Carolina, Andrea and Mike Winder of Sevierville, Tennessee and Catherine and Vidal Perez of Italy; grandchildren, Corrie Sledge and husband Corey of League City, Carrie Langford and husband Jordan, Casey Bryant and husband Christian, Bradley Bryan and wife Rebekah, all of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Mia-Michelle Perez of Italy, and Mary Maynard Perez, due March 2014; great-grandchildren, Brynlea Sledge, Claire Sledge, both of League City, Bryan Langford, Madelyn Langford, and Abbie Bryant, all of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; brothers and sisters-in-law, Loran and Nancy Mills of Pearland and Bruce and Charlene Mills of Cleveland; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Michael Ascione; and sister, Marsha Mills.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Bryan, Jordan Langford, Corey Sledge, Larry Kendrick, Mike Ripley and David Ripley.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Kendrick Sunday school class at Denman Avenue Baptist Church, Larry Hill, Richard Alexander and Jerry Blackmon.
