Funeral services for Maurine Tomlinson, 88, of Apple Springs, will be held Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Apple Springs Baptist Church with Brother J. Lindsey Nimmons, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery.
Mrs. Tomlinson was born March 23, 1925 in Apple Springs, Trinity County, Texas to the late Ira (Selma) and Hugh Lee. She died Thursday, December 12, 2013 in a Lufkin nursing facility.
Mrs. Tomlinson was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother and sister. She was a member of Apple Springs Baptist Church, where she had been a Sunday School and Bible Study teacher. Mrs. Tomlinson and her husband had also been foster parents to many children. She enjoyed quilting and playing volleyball. Mrs. Tomlinson had lived in Apple Springs all her life.
Survivors include her husband, Jesse Tomlinson of Apple Springs; her children, Hugh Tomlinson of Corpus Christi, Donna Marie Tomlinson of Houston, Vera Tomlinson of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, and Paul Tomlinson of Apple Springs; son-in-law, Lyndon Ray Stone of Porter; sister and brother-in-law, Vera Pearl Clonts and Cabe Cordyce of Apple Springs; and sister-in-law, Edna Lee.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Selma Anne Stone.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the church.
