Robert L. Hall

Funeral services for Robert L. Hall, 83, of Lufkin, will be held Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Pastor Gary Forrest and Brother Keith Woolf officiating. Interment will follow in Old Union Cemetery.

Mr. Hall was born February 15, 1930 in Cleveland, Texas to the late Zonie Bee (Cockrell) and John Louis Hall. He died Friday, December 13, 2013 in a Lufkin hospice facility.

Mr. Hall was retired from Champion Paper Mill as a Supervisor, following 40 years of service. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. Mr. Hall had been a member of the Chinquapin Hunting Club for more than 45 years, and had lived in Lufkin most of his life.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Lillian Stephens Hall of Lufkin; his children and their spouses, David Hall and Susan Stewart of Bridgeport, Alabama, Paul Douglas Hall and Roxanne Mathis of Lufkin, and Sandra and Keith Lee of Lufkin; grandchildren and spouses, Latisha and Brian Burgess of Hudson, Robert and Sammy Hall of Burwell, Nebraska, Jacob and Wendy Hall of Galveston, Cody and Maggie Lee of Lufkin, Stephanie and Jonathan Durham of Lufkin, and Amanda White and Johnny Brumlow of Texas City; twelve great grandchildren; longtime hunting buddy and friend, Peyton Mathis; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Bobbie Jones and Phyllis Batson; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Minnie and Gordon Stephens.

Pallbearers will be Keith Lee, Robert Hall, Cody Lee, Brian Burgess, Jonathan Durham and Jacob Hall.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Chinquapin Hunting Club.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 West Frank Ave., Lufkin, Texas 75904; Parkview Baptist Church, 111 Parview Circle, Lufkin, Texas 75904; or the charity of your choice.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
