Maren C. "Mareen" Bizzell

Funeral services for Maren C. “Mareen” Bizzell, 69, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Waggoner officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.

Maren was born January 29, 1944 in Hallig Langeness, Germany to Werner and Marie (Schmidt) Hillrichs, and died Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at The Joseph House. She had resided in Lufkin for more than 50 years.

Maren retired from Texas Foundries/Citation, where she worked as a lab tech for 20 plus years.

Maren created an enduring bond with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was able to sow the seeds of life and bring happiness to all. Maren was a dedicated and loving partner, mother, grandmother and friend.

Survivors include her life partner, Charles Cummings, Jr. of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Melvin and Crystal Bizzell of Springfield, Illinois, Earl and Brandy Bizzell of Smithfield, North Carolina, Lary and Shelia Bizzell, and Danny and Nicole Bizzell, all of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and John Thomas of Wells; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Heiko and Eva Hillrichs of Cuxhaven, Germany; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Hallig Langeness, Germany.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers will be John Bizzell, Mark Richardson, Christopher Thomas, Austin Verratti, Dustin Lamar and Grant McClure.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Bizzell and Rueben Bizzell.

The family extends special thanks to The Joseph House, Deborah and Janet with Affinity Hospice, and Dr. Kevin Farris.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
