Charles S. Stilson, Sr.

Funeral services for Charles S. Stilson, Sr., 73, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jody Windham officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park under the auspices of the Brazos Union Masonic Lodge #129 A.F. & A.M.

Mr. Stilson was born May 19, 1940 in Texarkana, Texas to the late Ana Pearl (Reeves) and William E. Stilson. He died Sunday, December 1, 2013 in a Lufkin hospice facility.

Mr. Stilson was a retired painter for Taylor Brothers following 30 years of service. He was a member of the Brazos Union Masonic Lodge #129 A.F. & A.M. Formerly a resident of Bryan, he had lived in Lufkin for the past 31 years. Mr. Stilson was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Julie Stilson of Lufkin; children, Dorothy Stilson Ybarra of Lufkin, Steve Stilson and wife Branda of Franklin, DeLisa Stilson and Danny Gardiner of Lufkin, and Scotty Stilson of Texarkana, Texas; grandchildren, Rachel Sallas, Alexis Mason, Steven Stilson, Crystal Flores, Brandy Russell, A.J. Flores, Michael Stilson, Kaywin Flores, Tyler Stilson and Amy Stilson; 16 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Dr. Kevin Farris, Wayne, Dorothy and Justin Pierce, all of Lufkin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Billy Lynn Stilson.

Pallbearers will be Steven Stilson, A.J. Flores, Michael Stilson, Tyler Stilson, C.J. Sallas and D.J. Mason.

Honorary pallbearers will be Alex Flores, Wayne Pierce and Alvin Reeves.

The family extends a special thanks to Hospice in the Pines.
