Loy Mack O'Neal

Funeral services for Loy Mack O’Neal, 65, of Apple Springs will be held Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church with Reverend Art Callaham officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. O’Neal was born February 26, 1948 in Lufkin, Texas to Loy Lamar and Mildred (McKinney) O’Neal, and died Monday, December 2, 2013 in a local hospital. He was a lifetime resident of Apple Springs.

Mr. O’Neal served in the U.S. Army as a member of the 66th MI Group of the 7th Army. He was the retired owner of Document Management Systems. Mr. O’Neal was a member of St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church where he served as past Vestry Junior Warden. He was a member of the Breakfast Team and was a former St. Cyprian’s Episcopal School board member. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a lifetime member of the Safari Club International. He also enjoyed farming and ranching.

Survivors include his wife, Linda O’Neal of Apple Springs; daughter, Cody O’Neal of San Antonio; grandson, Kash Gagne of San Antonio; stepsisters, Gena Hanner and Lynda Crain, both of Lufkin; and a number of other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Clayton O’Neal.

Pallbearers will be Brad Turner, Devin Turner, Katlin Turner, Ronnie Temple, Ralph Loggins and Kevin Hart.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church, 919 S. John Redditt Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904, or Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
