Maridee Stanley

Funeral services for Maridee Stanley, 59, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Cary Modisett officiating. Cremation will follow under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mrs. Stanley was born April 30, 1954 in Crookston, Minnesota, and died Friday, November 29, 2013 in a Lufkin hospice facility.

Mrs. Stanley had been an Employment Consultant for Texas Work Force Solutions for 15 years. She was a member of the Shawnee Apostolic Church. Mrs. Stanley loved to sing with the gospel group “The Stanley’s.” She had also been a manager of the City of Refuge for Veterans in Vinton, Louisiana. Mrs. Stanley had lived in Lufkin for the past 18 years, and previously resided in Redland for 15 years.

Survivors include her husband of 16 years, Douglas Stanley of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Doyle E. and April Cheek of Fort Worth, Rodney and Biffany Saucedo of Honolulu, Hawaii; stepdaughters, Kelly Bentley of Nacogdoches, Michelle Hart of San Antonio; grandchildren, Austin Borel of Lufkin, Justin Cheek, Joshua Cheek, both of Fort Worth, Skylor Saucedo, Kaylen Saucedo and Madylen Saucedo, all of Honolulu; as well as a number of family members in Minnesota.

Mrs. Stanley was preceded in death by her parents, Joe E. and Neva Purvis.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
