Graveside services for Berniece Pickard, 97, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Zavalla Cemetery with Dr. Andrew G. Pittman officiating.
Mrs. Pickard was born October 25, 1916 in Venice, Florida to W.A. and Sally (Turbeville) Lowery, and passed away peacefully Friday, November 8, 2013 at her residence.
Mrs. Pickard was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening and was an active member of Sunday school at Lufkin’s First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Pickard of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Lowery Blaine and Flo Pickard of Kingwood; grandsons and spouses, Todd and Karen Pickard of Kingwood, David and Abbey Pickard of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Bryan Duren of Lufkin; great-grandsons, Marshall, Jackson, Karson and Price Pickard; great-granddaughter, Charli Pickard; dear friend, Kandise Menefee of Lufkin; very dear friend for many years, Beverly Campbell of Lufkin; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, A.V. Pickard; brother, William A. Lowery; and sisters, Ruth Lowery, Annie Maude Leighton, Hazel Wilks and Mary Lowery Byrd.
Pallbearers will be Todd Pickard, David Pickard, Bryan Duren, Marshall Pickard, Jackson Pickard and Karson Pickard.
