Clarence L. "C.L." Young

November 4, 1941 — October 29, 2013

Clarence L. “C.L.” Young, Jr., 71, of Moscow died Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at his home in Moscow. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Young was born November 4, 1941 in Houston, Texas to Clara Modelle (Davis) and Clarence Loland Young, Sr. He had resided in Moscow for 17 years.

Mr. Young was an active member of the Moscow First Baptist Church, where he was custodian for 11 years. He was a founding and active member of Moscow-On-The-Go, and contributed time to the CCRC Food Pantry in Corrigan. His wish was for people to continue to lend a hand in helping others, and to be a friend to all. Mr. Young was a big supporter of the Bulldogs and Lady Dogs of Corrigan-Camden High School.

Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Jackie Bryant of Maud and Lauren and Michael Tant of Vidor; grandchildren, Andy Burt, Amos Burt, both of Maud, Cash Loland Tant and Kendall Tant, both of Vidor; great-grandsons, Quentin Moles of Missouri and Curtis Layne Burt of Maud; sister and brother-in-law, Amelia and Arkansas Quarles of Moscow; nieces and nephew, Gabrielle Quarles of Moscow, Christine English of Houston and Benjamin English of Dallas; cousins, Kathy Kearns Smith of Livingston and Gean Kearns of Terlingua; his very special “lady friend” who was with him to the very end, Kia Parker of Moscow; and special friends, James, Jr. and Monica Duncan of Moscow, Christal Evans and Alexis Lofton, both of Lufkin.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Modelle Young; two beloved sons, Charles Young and Loland Young; brother, Taylor Young; and niece, Amber English.
