James Minor Tatum

Funeral services for James Minor Tatum, 72, of the Saron Community will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ with Brother Cary Modisett officiating. Interment will follow in the Dunk Havard Cemetery.

Mr. Tatum was born October 9, 1941 at the ACOL Logging Camp in Polk County, Texas to Elwin and Rosella (Best) Tatum. He passed away at his home in Saron Saturday, October 26, 2013.

Survivors include his brother, John Henry Tatum and wife Jo Ann; sisters, Peggy Lankford and Rose Ann Harbuck and husband Mike; nieces, Luan Tatum and husband Phil Parr and Karla Anderson and husband Jon; nephews, John Henry Tatum II and wife Penny, Scott Tatum and wife Shelley, Justin Harbuck and James Harbuck; as well as a multitude of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Clowers, John Tatum II, Scott Tatum, Jon Anderson, Lucas Anderson, John Tatum III and Calvin Smallwood.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Anderson, Phill Parr, Joe Murray and Billy Glenn Poland.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at Carroway Funeral Home in Lufkin.
