Funeral services for Patricia Ann Brumble, formerly of Lufkin, will be held Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Nehemiah Hanson officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mrs. Brumble passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013 in The Woodland, Texas.
Patricia was born in Henderson, Texas. She attended Baylor University and later transferred to Texas State University. She earned her BA and her Master’s degrees in education at Stephen F. Austin State University.
While living in Lufkin, she taught Sunday school at Calvary Baptist Church and later at First Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Lufkin Garden Club for several years.
Mrs. Brumble taught fourth grade in LISD for 27 years at Kurth and Anderson Elementary Schools. Later, she moved to Porter, Texas and taught at Mim’s Christian Academy for the final three years of her career. She was a member of the Lydia Ladies’ Sunday School class at Mim’s Baptist Church in Conroe, Texas.
Mrs. Brumble is survived by her son, Ronald Brumble, and daughter-in-law Blanca of Virginia; her son, Robert Brumble, and daughter-in-law Eva of Lufkin; her daughter, Stacey, and son-in-law Dale Bourgeois of Magnolia. She has several grandchildren: Brandy and Jeff Bruce, Sara and Nehemiah Hanson, Laura Brumble, Kerri Wilson, and Brittni and Jeremiah Brumble. Great-grandchildren are Ashtyn and Lincoln Bruce.
Also surviving Pat are her best and most faithful “Sweathog” friends: Ginger Rogers, Melba Little, Peggy Cotten, Charlotte Pruitt, and Carol Roarke.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Brumble, Robert Brumble, Dale Bourgeois, Jeff Bruce, Nehemiah Hanson, Michael Lauderdale, and David Lauderdale.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
