Funeral services for T.D. “Boots” Morehead, 85, of Huntington will be held Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Huntington First Baptist Church with Dr. Darryl Smith and Brother Cary Modisett officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Cemetery.
Mr. Morehead was born January 25, 1928 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Archie and Lena Beatrice (Anderson) Morehead, and died Thursday, October 17, 2013 at his residence.
Mr. Morehead resided in Huntington most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army, and was the owner of Boots Grocery, Boots True Value Hardware, and Boots Furniture. Mr. Morehead was the last living founding board member of Huntington State Bank. He loved the outdoors, fishing, and hunting, and was an avid 42 player. Mr. Morehead was a member of the Huntington First Baptist Church, where he served as a greeter.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Jackie Morehead of Huntington; daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Don Evans of Kingwood; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Judy Morehead of Huntington; daughter and son-in-law, Peri and Mark Page of Huntington; grandchildren and spouses, Jodie Smith, Kerry Smith, Kristi and Todd Hefner, Kyle Evans, Justin and Megan Morehead, Jade and Jimmy Thompson, Kim and Jay Choate, Will and Carrie Scott, Cody and Michelle Scott, and Sloan Page; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry and Janet Morehead of Lufkin, W.J. and Hazel Morehead of Huntington and LaMorris and Maxine Morehead of Rocky Hill; sister and brother-in-law, Faye and John Pollino of Rocky Hill; sister-in-law, Dell Morehead of Rocky Hill; brother-in-law, Horace McCoy of Port Arthur; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Patti Morehead; brothers, Prentiss, Verble and W.L. “Tot:” Morehead; and sisters, Phynice Fuller and Myrle McCoy.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Evans, Todd Hefner, Will Scott, Justin Morehead, Cody Scott, Jimmy Thompson, Jay Choate and Sloan Page.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Huntington First Baptist Church.
