Robert Carlton "Bob" Sorenson

Funeral services for Robert Carlton “Bob” Sorenson, 70, of Huntington, TX will be held Sunday, October 13, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington, TX with Ken Odle officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in the Evergreen Memorial Park in Crockett, TX.

Mr. Sorenson was born October 28, 1942 in Corpus Christi, TX to D.V. and Anna (Bigger) Sorenson, and died Thursday, October 10, 2013 in a local hospital.

Mr. Sorenson was raised in the Chapman Ranch Community near Corpus Christi, TX. He was a retired owner of a logging equipment repair shop and had many friends and customers in the logging industry. Mr. Sorenson folded the first logging trailer in East Texas. He was quick with a grin and was a good mechanic, welder and friend. Mr. Sorenson had a talent for creating metal art and miniatures made from wood and things found in nature, and took great joy in sharing them with others.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly and Larry DeLong of Quanah, TX, Shavona and Terry Barrett of Weatherford, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Darton and Vicki Sorenson of Anthony, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Kristin and Wayne McGee of Refugio, TX; grandchildren, Jacquelyn Yowell, Rebekah DeLong, Jason Barrett, Maegan Barrett Lynch, Deborah Smith, Jeremy Sorenson, Allan Sorenson, Sr., Paige Sorenson, Madison McGee and Bryan McGee; great-grandchildren, Sutton Lynch, Matthew Harrelson, Jason Harrelson, Alaura Harrelson, Jeremy Sorenson, Cory Sorenson, and Allan Sorenson, Jr.; brother-in-law, Red Watkins of Moody, TX; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Jim Colley of Manhattan, KS, Sarilyn and Bill Harrison of Santa Clarita, CA, Kathy and Ken Odle of Mesquite, TX and Jo Ellen and Billy Hardy of Huntington, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Butch and Sandra Sorenson of Pollok, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lanette Watkins; and nephew, Tommy Watkins.

Pallbearers will be Butch Sorenson, Jim Colley, Red Watkins, Cody Hardy, Jason Sorenson and Brax Hardy.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon prior to the services.
