Aubrey L. Davis

Funeral services for Aubrey L. Davis, 71, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Neil Kemper officiating. Interment will follow in the Bennett Cemetery in Trinity County.

Mr. Davis was born January 12, 1942 in Trinity County, Texas to the late Lois T and Eula Mae (Wright) Davis, and died Thursday, October 3, 2013 in a local hospital.

Mr. Davis was a lifetime resident of Little Centerville in Trinity County. He retired from the Abitibi Paper Mill following 32 years of employment. He was a member of the Prairie View Methodist Church in Nogalus Prairie.

Aubrey was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He had a strong faith in God, shown by his many years of performing gospel music, singing praises to God, and preaching.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Charlene Davis of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Craig and Jo Davis of Huntsville, Chris and Kim Davis of Wells and Evan and Melissa Davis of Clawson; daughter and son-in-law, Shanna and Marty McClain of Groveton; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, James T and Dorothy Davis of Centerville and Dennis and Milda Davis of Nogalus Prairie; sister and brother-in-law, Dollie and Joe Floyd of Georgetown; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Eric, Ryan, Cory, Cole, Travis and Garrett.

Honorary pallbearers are granddaughters, Jill, Whitney, Hope, Holly and Hannah.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
