Funeral services for Ronnie Joe Howell, 70, of Corrigan will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Corrigan with Brother Curtis Jordan officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in the Carmona Cemetery in Corrigan.
Mr. Howell was born January 12, 1943 in the Carmona Community, Polk County, Texas to O.C. and Jo Nell (Moulder) Howell, and died Saturday, September 28, 2013 in Woodville.
A resident of Corrigan most of his life, Mr. Howell had resided in Woodville for five years. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a retired electrical engineer. Mr. Howell was an avid gardener and loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Corrigan and attended the Damascus Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Erik Howell of El Paso, Faron and Pam Howell of Corrigan and Donald Howell of Huntsville; grandchildren, Jaden Howell, Sydney Howell, Zoe Albertson, Christopher Howell, Casey Howell, Daylon Howell and Jaclyn Howell; sister and brother-in-law, Ida Mae and Burl Vann of Woodville; brother and sister-in-law, Curtis and Bonita Howell of Diboll; mother of his sons, Frances Howell of Huntsville; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Chase Howell; and brother, Walter Earl Howell.
Pallbearers will be Faron Howell, Erik Howell, Donald Howell, Keith Frankens, Earl Howell, Jr. and Robert Glen Beard.
Honorary pallbearer will be Vann Watts.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the First Baptist Church of Corrigan.
