Evelyn Thomas

Graveside services for Evelyn Thomas, 83, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, September 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carmona Cemetery in Corrigan with Alex Montilla officiating.

Mrs. Thomas was born January 27, 1930 in Carmona, Texas to Harvey L. Watson and Ethel (Fenley) Watson, and died Wednesday, September 25, 2013 in Lufkin.

Mrs. Thomas had resided in Lufkin for 51 years. She was a seamstress and did alterations at Regency Cleaners for 30 years. She also enjoyed making quilts. Mrs. Thomas was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn Williams and Juanell Vansau and husband Dennis, all of Lufkin; son, Larry Thomas and wife Bobbie of Lufkin; grandchildren, Scott Williams, Shane Williams, Amanda Hale, Denise Vansau and Rocky Vansau; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Wiggins; brother, Leon Watson; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar “Sonny” Thomas; and son-in-law, Jarrett D. Williams.
