Margaret Bostrom Todd

Margaret Bostrom Todd, “Peg”, was born February 29, 1952 in Wilmington, North Carolina to King Oscar Bostrom, Sr. and Margaret (Bergeron) Bostrom. She died at home in Lufkin, September 22, 2013.

Peg graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and from the University of Tennessee with a Master of Science in Nursing. She practiced as a registered nurse in many settings, and served as an instructor of nursing at Southeast Missouri State University, Stephen F. Austin State University, and for the last two decades at Angelina College.

She is survived by her husband, James H. Todd; daughters, Cassell Todd Hodges, spouse Travis, of Lufkin and Emily Todd McCarroll, spouse Brett, of Houston; son, Jeffrey Todd, spouse Katherine, of Lufkin; brothers, Jack Bostrom, spouse Susan, of Raleigh, North Carolina, King Bostrom, Jr. of Wilmington, North Carolina; brother-in-law, Meb Todd, spouse Cathy, of Lufkin; grandchildren, Mary Liz Crager, Miller Todd, Hollis Todd, Will McCarroll, Molly McCarroll, and Paige McCarroll; aunt, Frances Tranbarger of Kingsport, Tennessee; nieces and nephews, Angela Bostrom Smith of Cary, North Carolina, King Bostrom III of Cary, North Carolina, Eric Bostrom of Atlanta, Georgia, Chris Todd of Conroe, Clark Todd of Mandeville, Louisiana, and Jay Todd of Fort Worth. She also leaves behind special friends, Alysa Bass, Ellen Stoetzner Duke, Deborah Medford, Nelda Horton, and Lynda Alpenfels, who provided help and comfort to Peg and her family.

She will also be sorely missed by her dog “gangsters”, Ariel, Eddie, and Oreo.

A special thanks to her medical providers, Courtney H. Goodman, P.A. and James E. Saxton, M.D. and their staff; Kavitha Pinnamaneni, M.D. and her staff. The management and staff of Woodland Heights Medical Center were outstanding for their excellent and loving care. Much gratitude goes to all at Hospice in the Pines for the many kindnesses to Peg and her family in her final days.

A memorial service will be conducted by The Reverend Arthur H. Callaham Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church, Lufkin. The family will celebrate Peg and greet all friends Friday, September 27, 2013 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ralph & Kacoo’s Restaurant, Lufkin.

Pallbearers are Buford Abeldt, Donnie Carroll, Rox Covert, Daniel Cummins, Max Dickinson, David Fairchild, Patrick Gammill, Sonny Mahan, Sid Medford, Roger Moss, Leonard Peterson, and Jonathan Shipley. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Angelina College Division of Health Careers, and all of Peg’s former nursing students.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church, 919 S. John Redditt Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904, or Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
