Graveside services for Arthur Horace Mott, 73, of Jacksonville will be held Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Concord Cemetery near Zavalla with Brother Gary Forrest officiating.
Mr. Mott was born August 15, 1940 in Jasper, Texas to Horace and Ruby (Lakey) Mott, and died Monday, September 2, 2013 in a Tyler hospital. He had resided in Jacksonville for 17 years.
Mr. Mott served in the U.S. Army and was employed with Greyhound Bus Lines for 21 years. He was a member of the Amalgamated Transit Union and an associate member of the Sheriffs Association of Texas through Cherokee County. Mr. Mott loved the outdoors. He was of the Missionary Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Lily M. Mott of Jacksonville; son, K.W. Mott of Dallas; grandson, Michael J. Mott of Dallas; brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Helen Mott of Orange; sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Bobby Hamilton of Brookeland; sister-in-law, Lillie Pearl Mott of Vidor; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and one brother.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning at the cemetery.
