Funeral services for Allen Barringer, 47, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Reverend Ronnie Frankens officiating. Interment will follow in the Fielder Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Barringer was born November 8, 1965 in Lufkin, Texas, and died Sunday, August 25, 2013 in Jasper County.
Mr. Barringer was a Service Technician for Al Meyer Ford, where he had been employed for the past 10 years. He was an avid deer hunter. Mr. Barringer loved woodworking, and had his own line of furniture. He was of the Baptist faith, and had lived in the Lufkin area all his life.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Barringer of Lufkin; father, George Barringer of Lufkin; stepdaughter, Kristy Thompson of Nacogdoches; stepson, Martin Peterson of Lufkin; two step-grandsons, J.J. Courtney and Riley Thompson; sister and brother-in-law, Selena and Terry Mitchell of Lufkin; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousin, including a special aunt, Sandy Barringer.
Mr. Barringer was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Barringer; stepson, Clay Peterson; grandparents, Taft and Bernice Barringer, Truben and Dorothy Dixon; and uncles, James Barringer, Robert Dixon and Mike Dixon.
Pallbearers will be Martin Peterson, Terry Mitchell, Jim Dixon, Steven Nelson, David Barringer and Todd Mitchell.
Honorary pallbearer is Justin Mitchell.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
