Byron Allen Smith

Funeral services for Byron Allen Smith, 58, of Conroe, will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington. Interment will follow in Jonesville Cemetery.

Mr. Smith was born August 19, 1954 in Houston, Texas to the late Glenwith (Youngblood) and William Manuel Smith. He died Thursday, August 8, 2013 in a Houston hospital.

Mr. Smith had been employed as a machinist/inspector for Grey Tool and Grey Loc for 40 years. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved movies and also loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Mr. Smith had lived in Conroe for the past six years, and had resided most of his life in South Houston.

He is survived by his wife of 6 years, Shelley Smith; daughter, Tosha Smith Green; daughter, Charlene Smith; son, Daniel Smith; daughter, Elizabeth Smith; son, Arron Smith; grandchildren, Justin Baehr, Tommie June Lang, Joshua Greene, Bailey Greene, Maranda Terry; brother, Roger Smith; nephew, Shane Smith; niece, Carrie Smith; and nephew, Travis Smith.

Pallbearers will be Justin Baehr, Jesse Young, “friend” Mike, Roger Smith, Joshua Greene and Bailey Greene. Honorary pallbearers are Daniel Smith and A.J. Smith.
