Bessie "Nell" Weisinger Crum

Funeral services for Bessie “Nell” Weisinger Crum, 77, of Pollok will be held Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Horace Fletcher and Brother Marty Grounds officiating. Interment will follow in the Sand Flat Cemetery.

Mrs. Crum was born February 18, 1936 in Diboll, Texas to Charles Jefferson and Cliffie Avar (Stanaland) Weisinger, and died Thursday, August 8, 2013 at her residence.

Mrs. Crum resided in the Lufkin/Diboll area most of her life. She was a homemaker and loved to sew. She made most of her children’s clothes and western shirts. She enjoyed canning and loved catching fish, but not eating them. Most of all she loved her family. Mrs. Crum was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Willie Crum of Pollok; sons and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Lisa Crum of Huntington and Kenneth Crum of Fuller Springs; daughters and sons-in-law, Janie and Terry Poulan of Fuller Springs and Jennifer and Marty Grounds of Mt. Enterprise; grandchildren, Stacey, Tiffany, Josh, Dakota, Britny, Morgan and Polly; seven great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Alice Weisinger of Diboll; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and John Dykes of Zavalla; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Willie “Jeff” Crum; granddaughter, Ashley Poulan; brothers, Charles and Emmit Weisinger; and sister, Wanda Hooks.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Crum, Kenneth Crum, Yancy Meguess, Wesley Lummus, Mitchell Whitlow, Martin Dykes, Terry Poulan and Marty Grounds.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dewey Matchett, Ronnie Finch, Neil Lum and Brady Hooks.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon prior to the services.
