Memorial services for Jimmie Rodgers, 75, of Hudson will be held Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bethlehem United Methodist Church with Reverend Bud Bonner officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
Mr. Rodgers was born October 14, 1937 in Lufkin, Texas to I.T. and Essie Lee (Landrum) Rodgers, and died Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at his residence. He had resided in Hudson for 24 years.
Mr. Rodgers retired from the U.S. Air Force following 23 years of service, and worked for the Maintenance Department at Hudson I.S.D. He loved the outdoors, including gardening, and was known for his tomatoes. Mr. Rodgers was a member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Ann Rodgers of Hudson; son, Kenneth Wayne Rodgers of Hudson; granddaughter and husband, Misty and Earl Olsen of Etoile; great-granddaughter, October Olsen of Etoile; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Lela Rodgers of Fort Worth; sisters-in-law, Doris Jean Rodgers of Lufkin and Carolyn Brookshire of Hardin; and numerous other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Maurice Rodgers.
Memorial contributions may be made to Affinity Hospice, 2708 S. Medford Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75901.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning prior to the services.
