Memorial services for Al Permenter, Jr., 62, of Pollok will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
Mr. Permenter was born June 12, 1951 in Kirbyville, Texas to Agnes M. (Gibbs) and Alvie F. Permenter, Sr., and died Saturday, August 3, 2013 in Huntsville.
Mr. Permenter graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in English and Political Science. He was an insurance adjuster for 35 years, most recently at Brezina Claim Associates in Houston. He loved his motorcycle, and enjoyed reading, traveling, fishing, camping, hiking and bicycling. He was extremely adventurous, liked scuba diving. Mr. Permenter was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Reneau of Pollok; son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Samantha Permenter of Seattle, Washington; daughter, Jennifer Permenter of Lufkin; stepsons and daughters-in-law, Joshua and Amy Reneau of Pollok and Jared and Sonia Reneau of Houston; mother, Agnes M. Permenter of Nacogdoches; sisters and brothers-in-law, Charlotte Lindsay of Crockett, Judy and Jimmie Armstrong, Janice and Garland Teague, all of Nacogdoches; brothers and sister-in-law, Gene and Wanda Permenter of Nacogdoches, Jerry Permenter and life partner Howard Rogers of Santa Fe, New Mexico; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alvie F. Permenter, Sr.; sister, Mary Johnson; and brother, Joe Permenter.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon prior to the services.
