Albert Wayne Davidson

Funeral services for Albert Wayne Davidson, 67, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bobby Johnson and Mark Youngblood officiating. Interment will follow in the Berry Cemetery.

Mr. Davidson was born August 14, 1945 in Lufkin, Texas to Albert Lee and Adelle (Tullos) Davidson, and died Wednesday, July 10, 2013 in a local hospital. He was a lifetime resident of Lufkin.

Mr. Davidson retired from the Southland (Abitibi) Paper Mill following 35 years of service. He was the Union President of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers #1645 and always fought for his workers. He dedicated his life to his work and the Union and worked with the Champion leadership group for many years. Mr. Davidson was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Davidson; son, Johnny Davidson and wife Bonita; son, Richard Davidson and wife Shawn; son, Larry Bailey and wife Kay; daughter, Karen Atkins and husband Jerry; daughter, Denise Bridges and husband Steve; grandchildren, Ashley Daniels, Johnny Davidson, Jr., Jesse Davidson, Katie Davidson, Sean Wittmann, Brittney Havard, Sarah Linton, David Henson, Tyler Young, Vendela Young, Bradley Bailey, Crystal Bailey and Scott Bridges; great-grandchildren, Blaine Daniels, Ryder Daniels, Addison Daniels, Laceann Cannon, Parker Henson, Gabe Enloe, Khyler Hutto, Xanden Hutto and Jessikate Davidson; and sister, Betty Williams.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Davidson, Jr., Jesse Lee Davidson, David Henson, Steve Bridges, Charles Alexander, Cliff Davis, John Daniels and Tom Berry.

Honorary pallbearers will be Sean Wittmann, Byron Bragg, Dennis Shoemaker, Jeffery Jacobs, David Washington, Jerry Atkins, Kelly Hyde, Mark Youngblood and Charles Carter.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
