Deborah Renee "Debbie" Buchanan

Funeral services for Deborah Renee “Debbie” Buchanan, 57, of Lufkin will be held Friday, July 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randy Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.

Debbie was a very sweet and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was born January 16, 1956 in Galveston County, Texas to Eugene Ray and Billie Jean (Barfield) Pope, and died Monday, July 1, 2013 in a local hospital.

Debbie had resided in Lufkin most of her life. She worked for LCTX in Operator Services for more than 30 years. She was currently employed at Memorial Medical Center, Guest Services and Angelina College, Financial Aid Department. She was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Rickey Buchanan of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela Buchanan and John Temple, Jr. of Lufkin; grandson, Parker Cash Buchanan of Lufkin; granddaughter, Rikki Grace Buchanan of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald Eugene and Audrey Elaine Pope of Huntington; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Rosetta Buchanan of Nacogdoches; uncle and aunt, Roy and Estelle Cravey of Normangee; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mike and Wendy Buchanan of Nacogdoches and Michael and Jamie Roman of Corsicana; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter, Jeannie Suzanne Buchanan.

Pallbearers will be Andy Johnson, Smokey Davidson, Doug Conn, Elton Fenley, Greg Pierce and Bill Barfield.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
