Charlie Edward Vann

Funeral services for Charlie Edward Vann, 72, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Don Loftin officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells.

Mr. Vann was born January 4, 1941 in the Cold Springs Community of Cherokee County, Texas to the late Mattie Bell (Bostick) and Willie Lee Vann, Sr.. He died Sunday, June 30, 2013 at his residence.

Mr. Vann worked as a welder and pipefitter for Lufkin Industries for 25 years. He was a member of Lancewood Baptist Church and had resided in Lufkin most of his life.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Gary Wayne and Laura Vann of Woodville, Charles Edward (Bo) and Monica Vann of Houston, and John Allen Vann of Hot Springs, Arkansas; daughter-in-law, Sonia Vann of Wells; grandchildren, Krystle VanPelt, Amber Vann, Candice Allen and husband Trent, and Kelsey Vann; five great grandchildren; brother, Willie Lee Vann, Jr. of Lufkin; sisters, Dorothy Faye Rocka of Lilbert and Martha Raye Rocka of Cushing; brothers-in-law, Donald Jones of Lufkin and Doug Lowery of Port Neches; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mr. Vann was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Joy Brooks Vann; son, Michael Lynn Vann; brother, James Earl Vann; and sisters, Joyce Marie Lowery and Neva Aline Jones.

Pallbearers will be Steve Lowery, Kenny Rocka, James Vann, Shane Vann, Max Vann and Paul Daniel Vann.

Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Rocka and Johnathan Wilkie.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
