Berta Brock Love

Berta Brock Love, age 90, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2013 in Huntington, Texas. She was born on July 10, 1922, and was a lifelong resident of Angelina County. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ben H. Love, and her parents, Johnie Calhoun Brock and Evie Brown Brock. She is survived by her son, Memphis B. Crawford; granddaughter, Laura Leonard and husband Lawrence; great granddaughter, Gillian Leonard; brother, Robert E. Brock and wife Annette; sister-in-law, Estelle Brock; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Berta was a 60-year member of the Huntington Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star (Chapter #938), in which she served as a Worthy Matron. She was a member of the Huntington Methodist Church. Berta was an avid rock-hound, fisherwoman, and loved to crochet in her spare time.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones at the Carroway Funeral Home in Huntington on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At Berta’s request, there will be no funeral or graveside service.

Honorary pallbearers are Keith Carrell, Kenny Carrell, David Gordon, Dirk Gordon, Shane Gordon, Kippy Hopson, and Rob Reynolds.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Huntington Oddfellows Cemetery Association, 1033 Hyde Rd., Huntington, Texas 75949.
