Graveside services for James Elvin Johnson, 62, of Hudson will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Largent Cemetery with Reverend Elton Musick and Reverend Winford Johnson officiating.
Mr. Johnson was born November 4, 1950 in Lufkin, Texas to Herbert Lee and Hester (Williams) Johnson, and died Sunday, June 9, 2013 in a local hospital. He was a lifetime resident of Hudson. Mr. Johnson was employed with the City of Lufkin for more than 23 years and was a bus driver at Hudson ISD for more than 10 years. He worked with the Livestock 4H as an instructor in Shooting Sport and Livestock. Mr. Johnson was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jennie Johnson of Hudson; son, D.J. Johnson of Hudson; brothers and sisters-in-law, T.J. and Carol Johnson of Hudson, John and Judy Johnson of Alto; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joycie and Taft Barringer, Dell and Donald Cole, Marie and Bob Hughes, Nellie Kay Whisenant, Jerri and Steven Rector, all of Hudson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Johnny and Patsy McWilliams of Dallas; sisters-in-law, Louise Wideman of Lufkin and Betty Sanchez of Houston; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Herbert Lee Johnson.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Fuller, Micheal McDonald, Robert Cole, Cody Young, Daniel Eddings and Chris McMullen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hudson ISD bus drivers and monitors.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Carroway funeral home.
