Thelma "Dee" Mindiola

Funeral services for Thelma “Dee” Mindiola, 79, of Wells will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Josh Lindsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Blue Springs Cemetery in Etoile.

Mrs. Mindiola was born July 3, 1933 in Etoile, Texas to James Phillip Fitch and Hesta Amelia (Burnaman) Moore, and died Friday, June 7, 2013 in a local nursing home. She had resided in Wells for more than 40 years. Mrs. Mindiola was a member of the Hilltop Baptist Church in Alto.

Dee and the love of her life, Don Mindiola, were married for 52 years and made a loving home for their three daughters. She had a special bond with each of her grandchildren and has left them with wonderful memories of the time they spent with her. Her great-grandchildren were a source of great joy to her. Dee will be remembered as a warm, positive person who was loved by all who knew her.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Bart Nicholson of Linwood, Washington and Peggy and Steve Evans of Lufkin; son-in-law, Jim Bob Lindsey of Slocum; grandchildren, Bradley Pounds and Shannon Summers of Austin, Chris and Holli Pounds of Wells, Jade and Jason Minchew of Lufkin, Lindsay and Julio Aguilar of Fort Lewis, Washington, Justin and Whitney Lindsey of Nacogdoches, and Josh and Jessica Lindsey of Alto; great-grandchildren, J.C. and Kade Pounds, Jadyn Aguilar, Aubrey Minchew, Gracie and Karagen Lindsey, Braedon, Addison and Ava Lindsey; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Sondra Fitch of Livingston; sister and brother-in-law, Ophine and Dusty Young of Iva, South Carolina; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Gene Mindiola; and daughter, Laura Lindsey.

Pallbearers will be Bradley Pounds, Chris Pounds, Jason Minchew, Terry Fitch, Justin Lindsey and Donald Fitch, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jade Minchew, Lindsay Aguilar, Julio Aguilar and Phillip Dew.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
