Funeral services for Michael Randal “Randy” Yates, 43, of Huntington, will be held Sunday, June 2, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Cary Modisett officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery.
Randy was born August 31, 1969 in Portsmouth, Virginia to LaJune (Bynum) and Charles Yates. He died Thursday, May 30, 2013 in Huntington due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Randy was a self-employed custodian and had resided in Huntington for 12 years. He had previously lived in Lufkin and was a 1988 graduate of Lufkin High School. Randy was a member of the Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ.
Anyone who knew Randy, knows he fought a long battle with pain. He is now pain free. You also know how he loved pretty clothes and the “finer” things. Well, now he has the best. He is walking on streets of gold with gates of pearl. His heart was pure gold. He loved all and was loved by all. The Bible says that love covers a multitude of sins. Well, Randy had enough love to cover it all. He will be greatly missed by many. How do you replace an only son? Only our Lord Jesus knows.
Survivors include his parents, Charles and LaJune Yates of Huntington; sister and brother-in-law, Annie and Terry Witt of Huntington; grandmother, Jane Yates of Lufkin; uncles and aunts, John Yates, Deniece and Frank McCarty, all of Lufkin, Gary and Genny Bynum of Texarkana, and Bill and Donna Bynum of Troutville, Virginia; nephews and nieces, Jacob Carter, Kylie Carter, Faith Carter and Presley Witt, all of Huntington; special friends, Debbie, Bobbi, Lethy and his Shawnee Church Family; as well as numerous cousins and other relatives.
