Dennis Roy "Redneck" Young

Funeral services Dennis Roy “Redneck” Young, 60, of Lufkin, will be held Sunday, June 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.

Mr. Young was born August 20, 1952 in Bexar County, Texas to Drunell (Haygood) and the late Naaman Roy Young. He died Thursday, May 30, 2013 at his residence.

Mr. Young had lived in Lufkin all his life. He had worked as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, running trot lines, and riding motorcycles. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his mother, Drunell Young of Lufkin; daughter, Terri Liles of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Chad Reece of Huntington; and grandchildren, Ashlyn and Chandler Reece of Huntington, Tatum Liles and Reid Looney of Lufkin.

Pallbearers will be Martin Dorsett, Wayne Price, Elton James, Cliff Davis, Jerry Mack Hardy, Charlie Moody, Kelly Kendrick and Brax Hardy.

Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Hamilton and Billy Laird.

The family extended a special thanks to his caregiver, Jill Carroll, and his special friend, Glentis Marshall.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
