Funeral services for Meshell Foxworth Whitehead, 31, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Treadwell Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon prior to the services.
Meshell was born August 13, 1981 in Louisiana and died Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in a local hospital. She resided in Lufkin most of her life and was a server at IHOP. Meshell graduated from Huntington Pride in 1998. She was a member of the Clawson Assembly of God Church.
Quoting Meshell, “I love doing things that change people’s lives.” She was full of life and enjoyed her children, family, friends, and those she served at IHOP. Tessie said, “She was wild and crazy and I loved her for it.”
Survivors include her sons, Michael Gee, Jr., Ransom Evett, both of Louisiana and Garry Michael Evett of Huntington; father, Eddy Whitehead of Lufkin; mother, Mary Foxworth of Louisiana; brothers, Luther Whitehead and Michael Whitehead, both of Lufkin; adopted family, Audra Strickland, Tessie Reesor, Audie Guthery, all of Lufkin, Bobby Guthery, Jr. of Zavalla and Bobby Guthery, Sr. of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Evett; aunt who raised her, Muka Linda Suggs Guthery; and uncle, Audie Suggs.
