Cloyce A. King

Memorial services for Cloyce A. King, 78, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Horace Fletcher officiating.

Mr. King was born February 8, 1935 in Houston County, Texas to the late Pearl (Minton) and Logan King. He died Sunday, May 5, 2013 in a Lufkin hospital.

Mr. King retired from Champion Paper Mill in 1997, following 44 years of service. He lived in Lufkin most of his life. Cloyce enjoyed working in his shop, and rarely missed a sporting event for his son and grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Olene King of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Mary King of Lufkin; grandson, Kyle King of San Antonio; granddaughter, Kendall King of College Station; sister-in-law, Ruby King of Fairfield; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mr. King was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joe King, James King, Carlis King, George King and Clifford King; and sister, Elizabeth King.

Pallbearers will be Dwayne King, Danny King, James King, Johnny Jenkins, David Johnson, and Greg Montes.

Special friends and honorary pallbearers are J.W. and Jean Byars, Fred and Wanda Matzenbacher, Bob and Sue Brown, Arnold Montes, and Carolyn Johnson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hillcrest Baptist Church Building Fund, 2005 Ford Chapel Road, Lufkin, Texas 75901, or a charity of your choice.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
