Becky was born July 17, 1971 in Lufkin, Texas. She lived in Angelina County all her life. A loving and beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend left this earth to be with her Lord and Savior in her heavenly home Monday, April 29, 2013.
Becky was a 1989 graduate of Lufkin High School and attended Stephen F. Austin State University. She worked for The Lufkin Daily News for 17 years as a graphic artist. But her true life’s vocation was being a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt. She provided an example of courage and stability in her family that will be sorely missed.
One of Becky’s passions was animals. She fostered dogs and rescued many, stopping to save many from the center of streets and highways. She worked with shelters and animal rescue groups.
Becky was a devoted member of Grace Baptist Church, which she loved. She was active in several church activities. A few of her favorite activities were handing out Bibles in Lufkin, serving children in Vacation Bible School, and cooking for several groups. She greatly enjoyed her Sunday School Class and the Bible Study.
Becky leaves behind to grieve her passing her husband of 18 years, Raymond Earl Grimes; daughter, Shelby Jane Grimes; mother and daddy, Jane and James Perry; father and stepmother, Jerre, Jr. and Doylene Pope; sister, Tammy Jane Pope; sister and husband, Karla and Keith Oliver; special nephew, Tanner Pope; one niece and several nephews; and her many friends.
Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Melvin and Lorena Ivy, Verman and Eular Perry, Jerre, Sr. and Lottie Pope; and stepsister, Kendra Perry.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Oliver, Kenneth Grimes, Darrell Wright, Eldon Fuller, Kelly Fuller and William Fuller.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Becky’s Sunday School Class at Grace Baptist Church.
