Funeral services Juanita Carver Youngblood, 81, of Huntington, will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Pastor Leonard Ward officiating. Interment will follow in the Jonesville Cemetery.
Mrs. Youngblood was born April 23, 1931 in Crossett, Arkansas to the late Inez (Temple) and Bill Carver. She died Friday, April 19, 2013 in a Lufkin hospice facility.
Mrs. Youngblood was a homemaker and a pastor’s wife. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, and a friend to all. Most importantly, she loved the Lord with all her heart. Mrs. Youngblood was a great cook, and loved to decorate for Christmas. She was a member of Huntington First Assembly of God. She had lived in Huntington for the past 35 years, and previously resided in Lufkin for 15 years.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, George and Kathy Youngblood of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Bobby Smith of Etoile; grandchildren, Melissa Youngblood, Mark Youngblood and wife Kim, James Youngblood and wife Amber, David Brimer, Jr. and wife Karri, Joshua Brimer and wife Ashley, Leslie Young, and Robert Lee Brashear; fourteen great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Becky and Bob Mayfield of Tyler, Sue and Dean Linton of Lufkin, Frances Walker and Johnny Gregg of Dallas; brothers and sister-in-law, John and Mary Carver of Huntington, Tommy Carver of Lufkin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rev. James Youngblood; daughter, Rita Youngblood; brothers, Richard Carver, Robert Carver and B.L. Carver; and sister, Earlene Carver Mulan.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Smith, Leonard Sharp, Marvin Rich, Kenneth Rich, Thomas Roberts and Glenn Youngblood.
Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Matchett, Dean Linton and Michael Carver.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Ave., Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family extends special thanks to the staff of Castle Pines, the staff of Hospice in the Pines, and the Woodland Heights Medical Center nursing staff.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home in Lufkin.
