Earl Carrell

Funeral services for Earl Carrell, 78, of Hudson, formerly of Huntington, will be held Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bryan Lipscomb officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Cemetery.

Mr. Carrell was born August 23, 1934 in Angelina County, Texas to the late W.A. “Bill” and Opal Lee (Arnold) Carrell, and died Monday, April 15, 2013 in a local hospital. He was a lifetime resident of Angelina County and retired from Texas Foundries following 47 years of employment.

Mr. Carrell enjoyed coaching baseball when his kids were young, and loved watching his grandchildren play sports. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, and raising and training Labrador Retrievers. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Donna Lynn and David Milam of Hudson; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip Earl and Dovie Carrell of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Justin and Hollyn Keith, Zach Keith, Russell Carrell and Collin Carrell; brothers and sister-in-law, Robert Vernon Carrell of Huntington and Calvin and Susan Carrell of Monahans; sister, Judy James of Huntington; sister-in-law, Martha Lou Carrell of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Nerren Carrell December 13, 2012; and brothers, Delton Carrell, Roy Gene Carrell and Bearl Carrell.

Pallbearers will be Collin Carrell, Russell Carrell, Justin Keith, Phil Carrell, David Milam and Malcolm Arnold.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Arnold, Charles Chambliss, Bill Wesley and Zach Keith.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, 209 Christie Street, Lufkin, Texas 75904 or the Providence Baptist Church Building Fund, 4423 Ted Trout Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon prior to the services.
