Funeral services for George Henry Clark, 78, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mr. Clark was born March 8, 1935 in Huntington to Otis and Macy (Arnold) Clark, and died Friday, March 29, 2013 in Lufkin.
He had resided in Lufkin all of his life and was employed with Southland Paper Mill for 21 years. He also owned and operated Clark's Liquor Store for 27 years. He served in the U. S. Army and was a Baptist by faith. He enjoyed playing craps with his friends and dearly loved his grandkids.
Survivors include: son, Gary Clark and Polly of Zavalla; daughter, Connie Clark of Huntington; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Rejena Clark of Nacogdoches; son, Phil Clark and Amanda Scarborough of Lufkin; grandchildren and spouses, Robecca Woods, Casey Clark, Cassey Cox, Kyle Clark, Katie Clark and Cody Sirmons, Kory Clark, Joey Clark, Seth, Lexi and Levi Scarborough; great grandchildren, Katelynn and Kallie Rector, Bailey Jo Clark, Klayton (Booger) Woods and Avery Brook Cox; brother, Paul Clark; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Linda Clark; sister and brother-in-law, Polly and Pete White; sisters, Mildred Denman and Vera McGaughey, all of Huntington; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Billy Hamilton of Baton Rouge, LA; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Clark of Huntington, Merlene Chase of Charleston, TN; special friend, Troy Tullos of Lufkin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy (Lazarine) Clark; brothers, Aaron and Gene Clark; sister, Gracie McGaughey; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dorey and Clara Lazarine.
Pallbearers will be Joey Clark, Kory Clark, Kyle Clark, Steve Clark, Bud White, Mark Ramsey, Johnny Mills, and Carl Zylstra.
Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Tullos, Benny Lovett, Seedy Nevills, Ron Chase, Frank Clark, and Simon Winston.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, TX 75904.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
