Funeral services for Clarence Emmitt Bass, Jr., 78, of Diboll will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lester McAdams officiating. Interment will follow in the Ryan Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Bass was born November 25, 1934 in Center, TX to Clarence E. and Fay (Woods) Bass, and died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 in Houston, TX.
He had resided in Diboll for the past 43 years. He was retired from Union Pacific Railroad where he was employed for 42 years as a Machine Operator. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. He was a member of Truitt Chapel Baptist Church in Joaquin and also served in the U. S. Army.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Marjorie Bass of Diboll; sons and daughter-in-law, Clarence Bass and Deena Houston of Diboll and Lane and Tammy Bass of Burke; grandchildren and spouses, Blake and Rosa Bass, Carol and Matt Cotten, Andrew Bass; great grandchildren, Hayden and Kayleigh Moss, Hailey "Bug" Scoggin, Macy and Paige Ward; sister and brother-in-law, Annie Ruth and Bill Richards of Center; brother, Jerry Bass of Joaquin; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends at Angelina County Airport and Carlene's Café in Zavalla; special friend, James Bell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Bradley Bass.
Pallbearers will be Wilburn Kervin, Gene Bacon, Jerry Wayne Bell, Raymond Mason, Terry Mason and Tom Berry.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Grider, Gaylon Langford, Leroy Wilson, Wayne Ward, and Employees of Union Pacific Railroad.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
